700 Block, South Side

The 700 block of downtown’s K Street is one of the most blighted areas of Sacramento. The entire south side of the street has been taken over by the City of Sacramento for the purposes of redevelopment. The development project is to be lead by a team of two firms: D&S Development and CFY Development. However, part of the money slated to fund the development is left over from funds after the Governor dissolved redevelopment districts statewide. The State of California recently attempted to back out of its commitment to the project. Negotiations are underway but a lawsuit is certainly in the offing. If so, this project could be delayed by years.
